Life is a journey...capture the moment.

About Me

My photo
I'm Christie Zink, wife, mother and owner of Elan Images. Although I had been a hobbyist for years and took photos for family and friends, the birth of my first son catapulted me into this wonderful adventure that is Elan Images. My approach to photography is relaxed, fun, and in the moment. Whether they be silly moments, contemplative moments, or tender moments. I aim for my images to be a glimpse of real life, capturing your family as they are right now; a reflection of their spirit and personality. In your life there will be some exceptional moments with memories to cherish for a lifetime. No matter what your style, I work together with you to ensure that these cherished images document the festive and intimate moments of these magical happenings.

Wiggles and Giggles

I am the mother of two very enegetic boys and so when I met these two, I knew it would be an afternoon with a lot of wiggles and giggles!  I just loved their enegy and their beautiful smiles.  Seeing their genuine happiness and joy is refreshing and it renews my spirit.  This is why I love what I do...

All in the family...

I did not have to go far to capture this fun family.  Tim and Lori actually live just down the road from us and happen to be a relative somewhere along the line.  However, anyone who knows Stearns county knows that everyone is a cousin to someone. they have a beautiful family and recently just welcomed a granddaughter.  It was such a pleasure to meet her and have the opportunity to capture some laughs as we tromped through the fresh snow!  Thank you Tim and Lori.

Isn't she just precious...I absolutely LOVE babies!

I Have Been Inspired...

So, blogging has not been my forte, but I promise that I will try to be more dilligent in keeping up with posts. Sometimes it gets a bit overwhelming with social media and multiple projects going on. I wanted to share some photos from a recent trip to Louisiana and exciting news about a new project!

At the end of October, I had the opportunity to co-host a fundraiser for Tripp Roth. If you do not know who Tripp is, I would encourage you to check out his mommy's blog "EB"ing a Mommy and read about his journey with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). EB is a rare genetic skin condition, those who suffer from it lack the anchors that keep the skin intact and attached. The slightest friction causes severe and painful blistering. While those with milder forms can live into adulthood, children like Tripp who have a more severe form often do not make it to their first birthday.

My time in Louisiana was AMAZING...I cannot even put into words how my life was changed. I was touched by so much kindness and love. All of the people who came together for Tripp was so awesome!
Here is a short video from our event:

So, what does this have to do with my photography business? Well, this particular event does not have anything to do with it per say, however Tripp Roth has a lot to do with it. I am excited to unveil a new project that I have just launched called This Little Light. Through this project, I am able to reach out to families who are facing life threatening or life altering circumstances and illness. I will offer each of these special clients a free session to capture "their little light shining" and provide them with a DVD of images as well as a print of their choice. I have added links to my site at www.elan-images.com and I have also created a Facebook Page called This Little Light and of course I have a blog that you can check out HERE. The blog is where I will share images and stories of all of the children and families I have the opportunity to photograph. This is an amazing opportunity and I am so honored to be able to touch lives in such a meaningful way...through art.

A Precious Gift

I was recently honoered with the opportunity to spend an evening photographing the Weis family.  On May 13th, Jeanette Weis was diagnosed with stage IV Glioblastoma which is an agressive form of brain cancer.  Despite her fatigue, Jeanette opened her home to allow me to come and capture her family.  I thought that I would share a few images from teh evening.  A benefit account has been set up at Central Minnesota Credit Union.  If you are interested in making a contribtion, please mail checks to:

Spring has sprung!

Spring is finally here and I realized that it has been several months since I had posted anything.  The blogosphere is still so new to me and it can sometimes be overwhelming to try to keep the webiste up to date along with Facebook while trying to manage a young family.

That being said I wanted to share some fun shots from the Regional Tae Kwon Do 1st Annual Tournament.  It was a day full of tremendous energy as well as some amazing competitors...

A Charmed Life...

It was a fun filled Sunday afternoon capturing these little balls of energy!  Their personalities just came through in each and every shot.  Little nuggets like these are why I love what I do!!
